The Poldark Novels are a historical fictional sequence by Winston Graham.. The main character, Ross Poldark, a British Army officer, returns to his home in Cornwall from the American Revolutionary War only to find that his fiancée, Elizabeth Chynoweth, having believed him dead, is about to marry his cousin, Francis Poldark.

In 1973, he resurrected the series with The Black Moon. The total number of novels in the series ended up being 12, concluding with Bella Poldark in 2002. Winston Graham is almost certainly best known for his series of twelve novels set in Cornwall at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th centuries. They were televised as Poldark by the BBC in the 1970s.

I've begun a section on the film adaptations of the  21 Oct 2016 Winston Graham's Poldark novels (and the popular television adaptations of The first novel in the series sees Graham's hero, Ross Poldark,  21 Sep 2018 Little did Winston Graham suspect, when Ross Poldark, the book that began it all, was first published in 1945, that it would become a  15 Apr 2015 I fell headlong into the story and quickly recommended the novel to my dad who shared it with a friend.
